The discovery was disclosed by Commodore Abdulazeez Zubairu, Commander of NNS Delta, during a press briefing in Warri on Saturday. He described the development as part of ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and illegal refining under Operation Delta Sanity II. Acting on credible intelligence, naval forces launched an operation on June 19, 2025, deploying 14 officers aboard two gunboats and a speedboat into the creeks of Delta State.
