The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, isn’t here to play — and he made that loud and clear on Monday.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, Wike said he takes joy in stepping on powerful toes — especially when it comes to enforcing the rules, like making sure ground rents are paid.

“I’m not scared of the backlash from the so-called elite,” he said.

Here’s What He’s Saying:

He called out a section of Nigeria’s elite who travel abroad, see how well things are done, then come home and refuse to follow even basic laws.

Wike said that era of “do what you like, and nothing will happen” is over.

“Now, if you break the rules — something will happen.”

Wike’s message is simple: No more free passes for the rich and powerful. Rules are for everyone.
