Oyo/Osun Customs Command Generates Over ₦25.7 Billion in 3 Months — Comptroller Adelaja
The Nigeria Customs Service in Oyo and Osun States has announced that it collected over ₦25.7 billion in revenue between March and May 2025.
Comptroller Joseph Adelaja, who leads the Oyo/Osun Area Command, shared this during a press briefing on Tuesday at their headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He said the amount collected shows a 36.67% increase compared to the ₦18.1 billion generated in the same period last year (2024).
Adelaja credited the impressive growth to:
The hard work and dedication of Customs officers,
Strict enforcement of Customs regulations, and
The use of modern trade tools that help make trade easier and more transparent.
“These improvements have not only boosted revenue but also helped reduce illegal practices,” he said. “This aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing economic reforms and contributes to national development.”
. In addition to revenue collection, the command also stepped up its anti-smuggling operations, seizing banned goods worth ₦335.6 million in May 2025 alone.
Adelaja emphasized that the command will keep working to support legitimate trade, enhance compliance, and stop illegal activities in the region.
